Custom Antler Furniture, Crafted for You
From initial concept to finished piece, your custom antler table or furniture item is a collaboration with the maker, Joe Lake.
The Lake Antler Works Promise
At Lake Antler Works, custom antler furniture is more than a product—it’s an experience. Every piece begins with nature: shed antlers, live-edge wood, and your vision. The result is furniture that is both functional and gallery-worthy.
Whether you’re commissioning a custom antler dining table, coffee table, or poker table, the process is thoughtful, deliberate, and entirely personal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you ship your pieces?
˅
All of our furniture can be shipped, usually as a freight option. We package it in a custom wood crate to protect it. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser. In some cases, or at the purchasers request we will deliver your furniture ourselves. The price of this option is variable and is dependent upon the location of the purchaser as well as the size of their order etc.
How should I care for my furniture?
˅
The recommended humidity level by the EPA of a house is between 30% and 50%. The equilibrium of wood at this humidity is 6% – 9% which is why we dry the wood to this level. We do everything we can on our end to ensure there will be no issues with our furniture, but it is up to the caretaker to create a stable environment for the real wood furniture they have, whether it be from Lake Antler Works, or another company. We recommend keeping your home at a relative humidity level of 35% to 45% to minimize movement of all the wood furniture in your home.
How should I clean my furniture?
˅
Use a microfiber rag dampened with water and wipe your furniture down gently or use Saicos Ecoline Wash Care with a microfiber rag.
What finish do you use?
˅
I use a hard wax oil finish called Saicos Oil. This creates a very natural looking finish that enhances the natural beauty of the wood. It is very close to the wood, so when you touch it, you’re feeling the wood, not a plastic finish over the top. This is made with natural oils and waxes and is safe for children’s toys and food grade safe. After the oil finish is cured, I can apply an optional ceramic coating to offer even more liquid and scratch repellency.
Where do you get your antlers?
˅
I source my antlers from a few sources. In the spring many people go in search of dropped shed antlers. they will then sell these to “antler buyers” who purchase large amounts of these antlers. I then source from these dealers so that I have a large selection of the finest grade A antlers available. I hand pick all of the antlers I use. No antlers are casts or replicas.
Do you dry the wood you use?
˅
Yes we do. Here is the drying process for the wood I use. The log is milled into slabs, and then stacked and stickered to air dry for 1 to 2 years. When the wood is cut, it is at about 30% to 40% moisture content. This needs to air dry to less than 20%. Once the slabs are below 20% they are then put into a kiln to dry to 6% to 9%. This kiln drying process can take between 1 and 3 months, depending on the type of kiln the supplier has.
Where do you get your wood slabs?
˅
I source my wood slabs from mills across the country and into Costa Rica. Most of my walnut comes from California or Minnesota. My mesquite and pecan come from Texas. My Maple comes from Oregon or Minnesota. My oak comes from Minnesota. I source my wood from the location that the species I am after grows.
